ABOUT US

Our story began when the legendary Bishop's Restaurant, which operated in Lawrence, Massachusetts for over fifty years, closed its doors in January of 2002. Having faith in Bishop's menu, along with the blessing and support of the owners of Bishop's, the Bashara Family, The Geha Family who had worked at Bishop's for years opened the Phoenician Restaurant in Salem, NH on May of 2002. Key staff members, many of whom had worked at Bishop's for decades, joined the Geha Family at their new restaurant.

In May of 2009, the Phoenician moved to a larger venue in Haverhill, MA. The new location includes a 250 seat restaurant, a full bar area (recently renovated in 2019 to accommodate more seating), an outside patio and plenty of on-site parking. Our building also includes a function hall with a capacity of 400 guests known as "Michael's Function Hall" which is also operated by the Geha family and serves quality food and the same standard of service that guests have become accustomed to from the Phoenician for over two decades.

We Attribute Our Success to the Following:

Our Unique Menu:

  • The Phoenician combines traditional Middle-Eastern food with American favorites such as seafood, steaks, and chops.

A Commitment to Serving High Quality Food:

  • We don't just say it, we do it. We have an in-house butcher where all our steaks, chops, and kabobs are cut on the premises. Everything is made fresh from our famous hand-cut French fries to all of our salad dressings.

A Commitment to Service:

The Phoenician is family-owned and operated. When customers walk into our restaurant, we want them to feel as though they were walking into their own homes. A member of the Geha family is always present at the restaurant. Please feel free to ask speak to them regarding any questions or comments.

We have been proud to serve you for the past two decades and look forward to seeing you at the Phoenician for many years to come. We are always committed to your satisfaction, we hope to exceed your expectations with each and every visit.

Thank you,
The Geha Family
